Next time your bike stutters try the tank stop-cock in its various positions.
When mine stutters it's so bad that the motor has even stopped when changing from 5th to 4th gear!!
It also stinks of petrol at the same time!
If I switch to "Prime" the stuttering stops and the smell goes away.
Riddle me that one, friends!
